Benefits of the Advanced Program
Students who take and pass Advanced Placement classes and tests receive college credit at many post-secondary institutions, leading to less classes and tuition costs at schools. In addition, students who take Advanced Placement courses and do not pass the end-of-course exams are more prepared for the rigors of college.
Students who are AP Capstone Diploma candidates are identified individually on college applications, in addition to their more rigorous coursework. The work completed in AP Seminar and AP Research are often used by students for scholarships and applications, to demonstrate the advanced nature of their research and work.
