Arts Ed International
ArtsEd International is the program that processes, manages and oversees the admission and participation of international students at Miami Arts Charter School. Eligible international students wishing to attend Miami Arts Charter School may do so through the United States Department of Homeland Security Student Exchange Visa Program (SEVP).
The following information is being provided as reference for international students wishing to be considered for acceptance to Miami Arts Charter School:
- International students may apply as residents of any country in the world.
- All arts programs are available for international students. (instrumental music, vocal music, visual art, photo, dance, creative writing, drama, musical theater)
- All international students must apply online and complete an audition or submit an art portfolio for acceptance. To access the online application, CLICK HERE.
- Performance auditions are typically conducted through either a Zoom.com session or other distance communication platform. In some circumstances a video recording may be submitted as part of an audition presentation.
- Audition requirements for all arts areas may be found on this website. To access audition requirements CLICK HERE.
- Upon acceptance, students receive an I-20 form directly from Miami Arts Charter School through the United States Student Exchange Visa Information System (SEVIS) as required to request an F-1 Student Visa for entry into the United States.
- United States law requires that international students may only attend a public school or public charter school for one year. Miami Arts Charter School accepts international students only for 12th grade (senior year) as a capstone year. Upon completion of the senior year, and assuming that all other academic requirements are met (through evidence of a home-country school transcript), international students shall receive an accredited U.S. high school standard diploma. Upon graduation, international student graduates may apply to an American college or university for a transfer and extension of their F-1 visa.
- International students are fully eligible to receive services and support from the school's College Assistance Program (CAP) if they wish to remain in the United States beyond high school in pursuit of a higher education post-secondary degree.
- United States law requires that all international students pay the full tuition in an amount equal to that which the school would receive from regular state funding sources. However, scholarships, grants and foundation awards are available for eligible students.
- International students may become informed of the exact current annual tuition cost by contacting our admissions director, Ms. Valerie Barreiro, at vbarreiro@miamiartscharter.net.
- Scholarships are awarded on a merit basis and to target the school's need for a particular talent or skill in the performing or fine arts.
