AP Capstone Diploma
The Advanced Placement Capstone Diploma program allows students to experience rigorous high-level coursework, advanced research coursework, and presentation and real-world problem-solving opportunities.
To qualify for the Advanced Placement Capstone Diploma, students must take and pass any four (4) Advanced Placement tests with a score of 3 or higher and pass two specific AP classes, AP Seminar and AP Research.
The AP Seminar class introduces students to research and the higher-level aspects of learning and acquiring information. Students learn how to evaluate information, analyze and understand documents, synthesize information, and presentation skills, and public speaking.
The AP Research class allows students to undertake a research project, including facing ethical issues, understanding gaps in academic disciplines and creating a valid research method.
