Born and raised in Puerto Rico where she joined Julian Blanco School of the Arts, Ballet Concierto and Danza Jazz Company. She received her Bachelors in Fine Arts from New World School of the Arts with full-tuition scholarship in 1999. She is a certified K-12 dance teacher from the Florida Department of Education. 

As a performer, Ms. Barreiro has performed in Taiwan with New World School of the Arts tour and in Argentina for the album release tour of Fey. She has performed at the International Ballet Festival, International Hispanic Festival, Florida Dance Festival and Disney's Tia Pow Wow shows. Her successful dance experience in commercials and television work began at Univision and Telemundo productions. She has performed in music videos with Jerry Rivera, Patricia Manterola, Pilar Montenegro, Thalia, Lucero, Alexander Pires among others. She has performed for the MTV Video Music Awards, Latin Billboards, and Premios Lo Nuestro. She danced professionally with Brazarte Dance Company and she was a member of the Miami Heat Dancers in 2003. 

As an educator, Ms. Barreiro started her teaching career with many local dance studios in Miami and with Kids in Creative Arts Program teaching students from low-income families. Ms. Barreiro served as the President of the Dade Association of Dance Educators of Miami-Dade County. She had the honor of being nominated as "Who's Who among Americas's Teachers" in 2006 and she was the recipient of the "Spot Success Award" given by the superintendent of schools and her principal at South Miami Senior High School where she was the dance director for 10 years. Ms. Barreiro serves as an adjudicator and consultant for the dance programs in Lee County, Florida. She currently serves as President for FDEO (Florida Dance Education Organization). She has taught internationally for Ballet Metropolitano de Medellin in Colombia and Dance Tellez in Cabo San Lucas in Mexico. She has been invited as a guest teacher for the Miami City Ballet Summer Intensive Program for 6 years now. 

Ms. Barreiro created and developed the dance department at Miami Arts Charter School in 2009. She was the dance director for almost 10 years where she had the opportunity to transform dancers into powerful and expressive artists. She is now part of the administrative team as the Assistant Director for Admissions and Arts Administration.
