About Us
Miami Arts Charter School is a tuition-free public charter school in the Wynwood Arts District, near Downtown Miami. Accredited by COGNIA, we offer a college-preparatory academic curriculum alongside conservatory-style training in visual and performing arts.
Founded in 1990 by experienced public school music educators Alfredo and Christine de la Rosa, our school serves 950 students from grades 6-12, representing a broad range of cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds across Miami-Dade County.
Our students are placed in achievement-based levels within departments including Dance, Music (Instrumental and Vocal), Creative Writing, Visual Arts, Photography, and Theater. With a graduation rate above 95%, Miami Arts Charter School offers a challenging academic environment featuring advanced and honors courses, College Dual Enrollment, Entertainment Media Business, Entrepreneurship, and AP Capstone programs, with students working towards the AP Diploma.
Our distinguished faculty consists of professionals from Miami’s vibrant creative community and beyond, selected through national searches. All instructors are certified in Florida, providing expert training and real-world experience in all subjects aligned with state standards (CPALMS). Miami Arts Charter School fulfills all high school graduation requirements as per the Miami-Dade County Public Schools Student Progression Plan.
